mercredi premier juin - lesson

1. Dictee - choose any audio from the sicknesses topic on Moodle and transcribe the text. (as you would have done at home in preparation for your listening test).

2. Correct homework + prepare sentences for study- 3rd translation task from worksheet started in class in the previous lesson and last week.  Choose 10-15 phrases, sentences or vocab. from the third translation, write the English in your book and test yourself at home.

3. Start Journal Entry 4: You have taken up smoking. Write a journal entry using the language around smoking as well as the sicknesses language.

 This is your 4th journal entry, it needs to be considerably longer, more sophisticated and with less mistakes compared to your first 2 journal entries. You also need to show off as many grammar points and expressions as possible:

2. Journal entry 3 - Your journal entry 3 should show more sophistication. You need to pay more attention to details (spelling, accents, agreements). Show that you learned from your previous mistakes. You now have more language to CRAMP from as well. You are also required to add at least 1 present participle and Il faut/Il ne faut pas.

2. Answer sheet for homework - Complete translation task below with the help of the answer sheet.

Lesson Plan - Thursday 12/05

1. Transcription - Listen to 'En attendant chez le medecin' audio on moodle and transcribe the text into your exercise book. To be started in class and finished for homework.

2. Sentence construction activity: Sentences to be called out in English and in groups, use the cards provided to form sentences in Fench.

3. CRAMP  Journal entry 2:  Using the sentences formed in class + Connectors found on the blog + Rhetotical questions & Ejaculations - Quel dommage !  Quelle horreur ! + Recycle language & avoir expressions where possible.


DEVOIRS: Due next Wednesday :
 A. Complete transcription started in class.
 B. Complete Cloze/listening task:  'Aie, J'ai mal moi' - Audio and worksheet on Moodle

The test next Thursday will be based on the homework.

JOURNAL D’UN(E) HYPOCHONDRIAQUE – requirements

Write your journal entries using the below requirements. 

You are trying to show off how fluently and accurately you can write in French; the actual story is of secondary consideration, although it must be coherent.

Text-type :  Always the DATE in French e.g.  le jeudi 21 mars – NOTE: No capital letters for days or months

Register : Neutral and familiar

Language features :  Ejaculations e.g. Quel dommage !  Quelle horreur ! Quelle catastrophe !  Quelle désastre !

Rhetorical Questions: e.g. Qu’est-ce qui ne va pas?  Qu’est-ce qu’il faut faire?

Connectors: Check this Mrs Fish blog relevant Pages + basic ones such as D’abord, Puis, Ensuite, Enfin, mais, parce que, donc (therefore) etc
